2degrees recently completed its mobile offering by launching services for business, promising a repeat of the impact it made on the consumer market when it launched less than two years ago.
‘2degrees Business’ was announced on July 5 to a group of business leaders, with services aimed squarely at the more than 400,000 businesses that 2degrees says currently pay some of New Zealand’s highest mobile bills.
Chief executive Eric Hertz said New Zealand businesses have been frustrated by high prices, poor service and inflexible contracts.
“But that is changing,” he said.
“The monthly mobile bill is one of the biggest expenses for many businesses, and, unfortunately, one they have had too little choice about. We are excited to offer services to these customers because we know they are tired of paying too much and are ready for a change.”
2degrees Business kicked off with a host of unique new features.
Any business, no matter how small, can have a free calling group between people on the same bill. They can also mix and match plan types, so that low and heavy users can all be billed together.
Every person on the business customer’s bill can have their own wallet of ‘carry over minutes’, along with a bundle of texts and data to use as required.
For just $10 extra, the business can add a frequently called number, so everyone in the business can call a landline or 2degrees mobile at no extra cost.
“We asked businesses to send in their mobile bills, so we could see how much our plans could save them. The results suggest business mobile competition is well overdue, with eight out of 10 businesses who responded able to save over 25% if they switched to 2degrees Business,” Mr Hertz said.
The launch followed several months developing the 2degrees Business infrastructure, including a team of 70 business sales consultants and 16 retail stores, which will expand to 40 by the end of the year.
Mr Hertz said businesses interested in finding out more can call 0800 022 BIZ, a 24 hour line for business customers.
Once they are a customer, they can also monitor and control their account 24/7 via the 2degrees self-care portal.
