Another fundraiser for Saibaba Temple Project

It would be a programme of family entertainment at the Avondale College Auditorium in West Auckland on July 9, 2011 and an event bringing forth the talent of the younger members of the community.

Younger members of the Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan of New Zealand Inc are organising the event called, Rhythm & Rhapsody Two (R&RII).

It would reflect the success of its predecessor held at the same venue almost two years ago. The difference is that the ensuing programme would be bigger, better and coming at a time when the Sansthan needs to raise more than $1.5 million to complete its ambitious Temple Project in Onehunga by December 2012.

Sansthan President Bhaskar Reddy Duvvuru said the programme would comprise traditional Indian folk dances, combined with the trendy Bollywood items.

“Apart from raising money for our Temple Project, R&RII will bring to the fore the enthusiasm of our youngsters in participating in worthy causes and their organisational and histrionic talents. These young men and women are the pride of our community in general and the Sansthan in particular. Their spirit of enterprise is promising,” he said.

Secretary Hameed Mohammed said the property at 12-18 Prince Street in Onehunga is “waiting to be developed.”

“We need to obtain the necessary approvals from the Auckland City Council to develop the property, which has a built-up area of 3000 Sq M. While the Temple will form the most important aspect of the Complex, the construction programme will also comprise a Community Hall and accommodation for the priest and others,” he said.
