Anxiety runs high as Awards Night gets closer

The Sixth Annual Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards Programme scheduled to be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at Sky City Convention Centre has gained momentum, evincing the interest of the country’s wider business community.

Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali (from Chennai, India), Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce, Small Business Minister John Banks, Opposition Leader David Cunliffe, Auckland Mayor, BNZ Chairman John Waller and BNZ Partners Director Anthony Healy will be among the Guests of Honour at the event.

Ministers of the Crown, leaders of political parties, former ministers, Members of Parliament and leading businesspersons, consultants, entrepreneurs of small, medium and large enterprises will be among the guests.

Quality Programme

Popular Celebrity Speaker and Singer Jackie Clarke will be the Master of Ceremonies at the Programme, which will commence with an exhibition of sponsors and cocktails at 5 pm at Marlborough Rooms and the Promenade, followed by speeches, entertainment and Awards Presentation at the New Zealand Room.

The management of the Sky City Convention Centre, Spy Glass and a number of other organisations are coordinating efforts to ensure the success of the Awards Night, which will witness the announcement of finalists in 12 different categories. Winners in each category and the winner of the ‘Supreme Business of the Year’ Award will be presented with trophies at the Ceremony.

Distinguished Prince

Prince Nawab Mohammed will be accompanied by his wife Sayeeda Begum to New Zealand. Their visit is sponsored by BNZ Partners, Title Sponsors of our Awards.

He will also be the Guest Speaker at the annual Mother Teresa Anniversary celebrations to be held at the Catholic Church of Christ the King, located at 260 Richardson Road in Mt Roskill, Auckland at 2 pm on Sunday, November 17, 2013.

The Indian Government recognises him as the Prince of Arcot with honorific of ‘Your Highness’ or ‘His Highness,’ and grants Warrant of Precedence on a par with State Ministers, before the Mayor of Chennai (where he lives) in all government ceremonies and functions.

The Federal and State Governments recognise him as ‘The First Nobleman in the Muslim Community of South India.’

As a non-political and non-communal person, he maintains cordial relationship with the Central and State Governments and Founder Secretary General of ‘Harmony India,’ an Association that

promotes communal amity, secularism and national integration.

Nawab Mohammed said that he was pleased to accept the invitation extended by Mother Teresa Interfaith Committee and Indian Newslink to visit New Zealand.

“Ï am deeply honoured by the invitation received from the two organisations and my wife and I look forward to our first visit to your beautiful country. We will be delighted to meet the members of the Indian community and other New Zealanders in Auckland,” he said.

Mr Waller said that he was looking forward to the event this year.Title Sponsor
