Humble beginning

Armed with a degree (Bachelor of Science) from the University of Punjab in Pakistan, he spent three years with his elder brother Naveed, a dealer in used cars in Tokyo, Japan.

He arrived in New Zealand in 1990 and was at once lured by the sylvan surroundings and salubrious climate but it was not until 1997 that he established Tarnica Cars Limited.

What began as a modest venture with 12 cars in a facility in Otahuhu, Tarnica (named after a mountain in Japan) has grown to account for hundreds of cars at its Otahuhu and Papatoetoe showrooms and yards. The Company also accounts for a centre in Japan.

Customer feedback and constant market evaluation enables him and his brother Waseem Ashraf (General Manager) to realign imports accordingly.
