BOP Indians honoured in Rotorua

The Bay of Plenty Indian Association, one of the oldest organisations of its type in the country, is the proud home of a large number of people of Indian origin. With their business acumen, hard work, dedication and sacrifice, they have not only become successful entrepreneurs, farmers, owners of small and medium-sized businesses and professionals, but also raised the bar of quality and standard for the younger generations to follow.

The Association, based in Rotorua, accorded life membership, a rare honour, to Krishna Pragi and Hasmukh Chhagan at their Annual General Meeting held on June 16, 2013.

A citation said that they were recognised for inspiring leadership and commitment and service to the community in Rotorua for a period equivalent to 50 years between them.
