Captivating experience for the senses

Launched in December 2007, the Pullman network currently counts 56 hotels in 20 countries in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and South America.

A member of the Accor Hotel chain, Pullman Auckland, one of the newest additions to the Five-Star Pullman portfolio, opened in January 2011.

At Pullman, the philosophy is, “Eat like you would at home.’

This is evident with great quality and personalised choice of food and service for every situation.

Whether it is a quick bite, business lunch, banquet, wedding or simply a pleasantly relaxing meal with friends, Pullman ensures that all meals are made with the recipient in mind.

This is something Executive Chef Nitin Kumar is passionate about.

“No matter what time of day it is, it is my team’s focus to provide consistent Five-Star quality cuisine,” he said.

To this end, he has created a menu with a variety of international cuisines designed to impress all appetites.

Nitin’s journey to become Executive Chef at Pullman Auckland is a tribute to his passion for cooking.

Following graduation with a diploma in Hotel Management in Mumbai more than 10 years ago, Nitin has worked his way through various Five Star hotels in India and New Zealand to secure his place as the Executive Chef at Pullman Auckland Hotel.

“Cooking is not just about reading a text book; it is about experiencing all facets of the kitchen, from being a pastry chef to working in a hot kitchen.

“Experience is something that is earned through hard work, so it is important to be committed to consistently practising your craft, even when you feel you have mastered it,” he said.

With this in mind, Nitin looks for the admired qualities of organisation, commitment and focus in the apprentice chefs that he hires.

“Anyone can be passionate about cooking. It is about finding people, who are committed. I want chefs who are not prepared to deliver anything to guests unless they are 100% satisfied with what they are delivering; exceptional cuisine combined with exceptional service is critical in creating a successful Five-Star restaurant,” he said.

And successful is what the Restaurant is. Dining at Pullman Auckland is a captivating experience for the senses.

The Café is an upscale restaurant that highlights the tastes of the world through its innovative culinary creations and impressive international wine list.

The menu offers delectable delicacies from New Zealand, Asian and European cuisines, all created live in the viewing kitchen.

Demonstrating his personal touch, Nitin wanted to pass on his sincerest best wishes to all Indian Newslink readers for their Diwali celebrations.

“I look forward to seeing you in our restaurant soon,” he said.

Situated on the Lobby Level of the hotel, Pullman Auckland’s restaurant “The Cafe” is open from 6 am to 10 pm, Seven days a week.

Pullman Auckland is the Sponsor of the ‘Business Excellence in Restaurant Trade’ Category of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2011.
