With three lounges to decorate at Bupa David Lange Care Home in the South Auckland suburb , the staff and residents have been busy theming each one with unique Christmas displays. The residents and Bupa team work together to make sure each display looks unique.

One of the lounges has a nativity scene and another has a white Christmas theme with blue lights and hanging snowballs.

The Festive Spirit

Bupa David Lange Care Home Manager Yvonne Kleyn said that the Christmas season means family to the care home and everyone gets into the festive spirit with a lot of effort put into the displays.

“We make sure that our residents and team feel like one big family. Therefore it is important for us to include displays like a photo wall featuring residents. Our Christmas displays can bring back strong memories of Christmases from years ago for the residents. It means so much to them,” she said.

The Care Home held a Christmas Party on December 13, 2019, at which all families of residents were invited for a carols service.

On Christmas Day, the residents will have a traditional Christmas lunch and gift giving.
