Commemorative Coins pack a punch

Not only is New Zealand Mint a leading bullion supplier in New Zealand, but also producer of the highest of quality commemorative coins for an expansive international market.

Whilst coin collecting is not a common hobby in New Zealand, it has a very large following internationally, we provide our customers with coins minted from pure quality (999) precious metals with themed imagery and unique packaging.

We create coins based around particular events, anniversaries, or significant cultural and entertainment themes for various markets around the world, particularly Russia, US and many European countries.

Legal Tender

Our coins carry a legal tender status with New Zealand Mint exclusively representing the Monetary Authority on many Pacific Islands nations.

This legal tender status sets us apart from others in the market and provides our coins with a collectible value, in addition to the limited mintage set on each coin.

New Zealand Mint made headlines recently for producing coins for several licensed products such as Star Wars, Anne Geddes and Muhammad Ali.

These coin programmes have paved a new road for New Zealand Mint with not only coin collectors snapping them up, but also fans of the licensed brands purchasing them.

The licensed brands do not stop here; New Zealand Mint will be announcing new partnerships in the coming months with some exciting products on their way.

Our business is known for its innovation and creativity when it comes to Commemorative Coins.

New coins

We launched recently a ‘Great White Shark’ 1oz Silver Coin.

This coin has bite marks that pierce through the entire coin punching out four holes. We are proud of this innovation, which took several attempts to perfect.

The Muhammad Ali commemorative coin set has been hugely popular.

With 2012 marking his 70th birthday, a Limited Edition Ali Anniversary coin has been launched. This 1oz silver coin comes with a miniature red boxing glove encased in a Perspex box.

As Muhammad Ali is the greatest boxer of all time, we expect this coin to be a great success for our Company.

Snake Year

Each year, New Zealand Mint creates lunar coins that have proved very popular with our regular customers. The ‘2013 Year of the Snake’ coin is expected to be well received when launched later this year.
