Dunedin teenager’s murder investigation continues

Police have located an item of interest after searching a Dunedin quarry in the investigation into a teenager’s alleged murder.

Amber-Rose Rush, 16, was found dead at a house on Clermiston Avenue on Saturday (February 3, 2018) morning.

A 30-year-old doctor appeared in the Dunedin District Court on Monday afternoon charged with her murder.

Police that say the man who was known to her.

Item found

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Hanna said that an item of interest was located after a search was conducted at Blackhead Quarry on Tuesday.

“We are still wanting to identify the occupants of a dark coloured vehicle believed to be a Toyota Camry or similar which was parked in the carpark at Blackhead Quarry. These people may be able to assist with the investigation,” he said.

The vehicle is believed to have been in the carpark between 1130 pm and 1230 am on Friday, 2, 2018 and Saturday, February 3, 2018.

Police are also interested in any sightings of a silver two-door BMW that is believed to have travelled from Dunedin to Balclutha between midnight and about 2 am on February 3.
