Inland Revenue Department (IRD) has launched its Compliance Focus as we continue to make it easier for businesses to do business with us.
After considering the value and usability of an annual one-size-fits-all document, we altered our approach this year, and will now be publishing separate customer-tailored products that provide more in-depth information to specific taxpayer groups.
This year we have developed information that is tailored for Small-Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs).
SME owners are busy people and they do not have time to read a lot of information. Therefore, we have developed a series of printed infographics that present the main points quickly and clearly.
These are designed as guides to help customers and include information on ‘the mistakes we see’ and ‘what we are doing to help them get it right.’
They also capture some of the key information that we have provided in the main document in previous years.
We will use these infographics in our contact with SMEs and will distribute via other groups and channels to reach a wider range of customers.

By providing information and assistance to these customers, we are not only directly supporting those businesses but also helping their employees to meet their tax obligations as well so there is a positive flow-on-effect.
