Event Management acquires larger dimension

An increasing number of local and overseas organisations are seeking competent event management companies and those offering high standards of service can reap the benefits of a growing sector, says a professional.

According to Sonia Rai Kaushal, Director of the Auckland based Dream World New Zealand Limited, while outsourcing has become a norm, companies seek better value for their money from qualified event managers.

“Apart from expecting value added products and services, companies entrusting tasks to event managers are keen to ensure that their corporate and brand images are not compromised,” she said.

She said the concept of MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conferences and Exhibitions) has grown in scope and extent over the years and that companies that provide comprehensive services are increasingly preferred by large and medium enterprises here and abroad.

Surging demand

“Dream World has been experiencing a spurt in demand from companies that wish to concentrate on ‘core business transactions’ and leave the challenge of putting together organisational aspects to event managers,” she said.

Established as a family-owned Wholesale Business to Business Travel Company in 2004, Dream World has been in the organisation and management of Bollywood and other corporate events.

Ms Kaushal said provision of comprehensive destination and event management services formed the core activity of the Company.

“Operating as a key point of contact for the international travel trade, corporate houses, motion picture companies and entertainers and live concerts, Dream World strives to deliver dependability and unmatched advantages to worldwide clients.

“Dream World has managed a number of film and stage groups, in addition to bringing international sports such as the National Soccer Team of Kuwait,” she said.

She said that apart from providing normal hospitality and event management services, Dream World offers innovative thinking, expertise and dynamism, suited to each event on an individual basis.

Strategic Alliance

As a part of its growth pattern, the Company recently entered into a strategic alliance with the WA Marketing Group with its Chairman & Managing Director Wenceslaus Anthony appointed as an Advisor.

“Mr Anthony brings with him years of proven experience and expertise in marketing, management and negotiation skills. This strategic partnership will bring numerous advantages to Dream World customers,” Ms Kaushal said.

She said forthcoming events would include the Indian Spice Festival organised for the Spices Board of India from November 1 to 5 (see separate stories in this section) and the Sports Goods Export Promotion Council Exhibition on November 15 and 16.

Both events, scheduled to be held at the Stamford Plaza Hotel, will include Buyer-Seller meetings.

Dream World New Zealand Limited, WA Marketing Group (with its Indian associate Teledata Informatics) and Stamford Plaza Hotel are respectively sponsors of the Best Exporter to India Business, Best Medium Business and Best Innovation Business Categories of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2010
