Fire crews have managed to keep a blaze at a south Auckland home from spreading to nearby properties.
Seven crews were sent to battle the fire that gutted a home on Preston Rd in Otara from about 10 am on Saturday.
No one was injured in the blaze but the building was “well ablaze” when the Fire Service arrived and threatened nearby homes.
It had been contained by noon and teams were dampening the site down.
A cause has yet to be found.
