Foundation Ceremony for ‘Tamil God’

The New Zealand Temple Society Inc will perform ‘Bhoomi Pooja’ at its new premises at 145, Church Street, Otahuhu (Auckland) on Sunday, March 24 at 9 am.

The ceremony, conducted in strict adherence to the ancient science of structures and architecture, would mark the beginning of the construction of our Thirumurugan Temple.

By performing Bhoomi Pooja on an auspicious day and at the right time, the energy as well as the natural elements namely Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether surrounding the new site will be propitiated.

Many Poojas and Homams (Yagnas) will be performed before sanctifying the foundation with a view to getting the energies of the Divine Deities.

Besides these, Bhoomi Pooja is performed to get the approval of Bhoomi (Mother Earth) and to get divine blessings for temple construction.

The programme would include Kumbha Pooja, and Homam.

Annadhanam will be served at 12 pm, followed by sponsorship opportunities including the sale of bricks which be held from 1 pm to 3 pm.

The event is open to all.
