Friendly website offers quality service

Friendly website- Abdul Rafik.jpgVisitors to our website (www.ird.govt.nz) say that apart from its refreshing new appearance, several facilities and online services are user-friendly and efficient.

We have improved our online payments pages. You will find the link (Make a Payment) on the right side of the homepage useful.

If you owe tax, you can pay by credit or debit card, make an electronic payment, or set up a direct credit payment facility. Online payments can be made quickly, easily and from anywhere in the world.

If you are not sure about the recent changes to taxation, the website link, ‘Affected by the recent tax changes?’ will be educative and informative.

If you are an employee and worked only for part of the year, you may be entitled to a tax refund. There could be other circumstances that may entitle you for a refund. Click the ‘Money back’ link to find out more.

If you pay or receive child support, you should visit our website regularly for updates.

The Government is planning to change the Child Support Scheme. You can read the options on our website and respond by opening the page, ‘Have your say’.

Please browse the website, you will find useful information, services and tools, all designed to make tax as easy as possible.

If you wish to access the full range of options and services, you must register with our Department online. Thereafter, you can view and update your details including address, phone number and bank accounts, view your balances and transactions and view upcoming payments and due dates, request and confirm personal tax summary.

You could also file an Individual income tax return (IR3), get your earnings information, communicate with us via secure mail and use My family details and income (the automated Working for Families Tax Credits service) online.

If you like to attend our free seminars and workshops, visit our website to register.
