Friends greet septuagenarian

Some call it ‘Dodranscentennial’ or ‘Dequascentennial,’ others say it is ‘Semisesquicentennial,’ but for those attached to the Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin (GIPIO), it was simply the 75th Birthday of Virinder Aggarwal, one of the pillars of the community.

Several members of the Organisation were present at the event held at his residence in Blockhouse Bay in Auckland.

Over the years, Mr Aggarwal has earned respect of people for his honesty, forthrightness, success in life and most important of all, ability to interact with of people of all groups and vicissitudes.

It was therefore an occasion for community and business leaders to celebrate and wish him several more years of healthy, peaceful and harmonious life.

As a senior member of GOPIO and Founder-President of the GOPIO West, he has brought dignity and honour to the Association.

Says Mr Sharma: “As well as building a strong team and focusing on achieving the objectives of the organisation, Mr Aggarwal has built GOPIO West as the strongest and most active Chapter in the country,” he said.

Since his migration to New Zealand in 1999, Mr Aggarwal has been associated with a number of organisations. He was recently appointed as the Community Culture Advisor to the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC).
