The Republic of China (Taiwan) is the home for quality hardware manufacturers and suppliers and hence a visit by a trade delegation is an event in itself.

Six leading manufacturers of a wide range of products and providers will be at the Langham Hotel in Auckland on Monday, May 16, 2016 at Langham Hotel (Symonds Street) in Auckland.

The one-day event is being organised by the Sydney based Taiwan Trade Centre (located at Suite 1601, Level 16, 55 Clarence Street, Sydney) in association with the Bureau of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Taiwan and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council to provide a platform for the participating companies to showcase their latest innovative and finest products.

Diverse expertise

Senior Trade Officer Anthony Tung said that the event, which will include business-to-business meetings will appeal to professionals in the hardware, gardening, industrial protection, electronic connector and machinery sectors in New Zealand.

“The Trade Mission will bring together experts from diverse areas of expertise and inform of them of the latest developments in the related industries,” he said.

Mr Tung said that the participating companies include AMKO Industrial Company Limited, Chibin Machine Company Limited, HO Cheng Safety Enterprise Company Limited, Horman Company, HSP Connector Company Limited, Lijehon Technologies Company Limited and Survex Corporation.

“These companies are involved in Personal Protection Equipment, Electronic Connectors, Fasteners, companies dealing in Lost Wax Casting, CNC Machining and MIM Parts, Oil Pipe Threading Lathe, CNC Heavy Duty Lathe, Hearing Protection, Respirator, Face Shield, Eye Protection and Road Safety, Stainless Steel Fittings, Tube Fittings, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Fittings, Joints & Hose End Fittings, Quick Couplings, Valves, Nozzles and Customised Products,” he said.

Global topper

Mr Tung said that Taiwan ranks third in the global export value in the hardware industry and is famous for high quality, innovative products at competitive prices.

“The electronic connector industry in Taiwan contributes about one-tenth of the global total of such products. Taiwan is one of the largest machinery exporters in the world and is a topper with exports valued at US$ 4.24 billion,” he said.

According to the International Institute of Management Development based in Lausanne, Switzerland, Taiwan surged 15 placed and entered the top ten countries for the first in 2010.

“Taiwan is enjoying incredible performance. Taiwan is justified in being highly confident in its future economic development,” the Institute said in its ‘Global Competitiveness Report.’

Export booster

A Bureau of Foreign Trade Press Release said that Taiwan’s hardware and ‘Do-It-Yourself’ industry is a traditionally export-oriented sector.

“Over the past several decades, Taiwan’s companies have tirelessly dedicated themselves to developing quality improvements and functional innovations. Their efforts have earned them an excellent reputation and countless achievements in the global market. Thanks to their contributions, Taiwan has remained uniquely positioned as the ‘Gateway to Asia Pacific’ despite tough times, providing convenient access to superior quality products that put vivacity back into the ever-changing styles of consumers,” it said.

“Taiwan’s numerous years of specialised experience and manufacturing flexibility easily open doors to vast business opportunities across the region. With efficient order processing and highly experienced R&D, Taiwan has gained global recognition for originality and innovation,” the Press Release added.
