Halal Travel ensures Muslim values

Two of the world’s biggest names in halal tourism will launch new products at the premier travel show in the Middle East.

The aim is to accelerate one of the fastest growing sectors in the travel industry.

‘CrescentRating’ and ‘HalalTrip’ will be exhibiting at this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai next month and will launch a number of new products over the course of the four-day event to facilitate the growth of the Halal travel market.

The 2015 edition of the ATM will take place at the Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre from May 4 to 7, 2015.

CrescentRating and HalalTrip will be exhibiting at Booth AS9070 in Hall 3.

Innovative products

Fazal Bahardeen, CEO of CrescentRating and HalalTrip, said the new products will be “innovations that enhance the experience of the Muslim travellers,” in line with the theme of this year’s show, which is set to shine the spotlight on the growing importance of technology in the industry.

He said, “This year, the ATM will focus on family travel and advances in technology and we will launch products which will showcase the integration of the latest technology.”

“Our focus as a business is to increase the interaction on in the digital space as we are seeing Muslim travellers across the world, especially in the Middle East, increasing their use of technology through smartphones and tablets.”

The company recently launched The ‘MasterCard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) 2015,’ the most comprehensive research on the sector.

Popular destinations

Malaysia took the top spot on the list, for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) destinations while Singapore came first for the non-OIC destinations.

The study also revealed that in 2014, this segment was worth US$145 billion with 108 million Muslim travellers representing 10% of the entire tourism economy.

This is forecast to grow to 150 million visitors by 2020, accounting for 11% of the market segment with a market value projected to grow to US$200 billion.
