Hindustani Classical Concert due

It would be a double treat for Indian classical music lovers as a young and talented musician presents a concert of Hindustani Classical music and releases his debut album on the same stage.

New Zealand-born Roshan Raju will perform at the Green Bay High School Performing Arts Theatre, 143, Godley Road, Green Bay in Waitakere City on April 21 at 7 pm. He will be accompanied by Roshan (Keyboard), Prashant (Tabla) and Aswin (Violin).

Initiated into Indian classical music by Diwan Diwakar (who has since left New Zealand for Melbourne in Australia), at the age of six, Roshan later learnt Hindustani classical music under the tutelage of Professor Shukdev Madhur (founder of the Sargam School of Music).

Professor Madhur trained the young man on various aspects of Hindustani music and provided him with opportunities to perform at public and private concerts.

The Album is stated to be a collection of Bhajans composed by Professor Madhur.

Roshan is now studying Hindustani music under Pandit Rajendra Kandalgaonkar of the Kirana Gharana based in Pune.

Tickets for the concert, priced at $10 are on sale and would be available at the concert venue.
