A taxi-driver, it is often said, knows everyone and everything going on in the city. True to this belief, Jagan Reddy Vodnala, who is contesting as a Labour Party candidate in the Manurewa Local Board, South Auckland is a great friend of communities.
A Resident of Clendon Park in South Auckland for the past 17 years, Jagan says that he understands the needs and aspirations of his people.
“I love Manurewa because this beautiful town has been home for many ethnicities. We have our Botanical Gardens to attract more International tourists. As well as promoting this tourist attraction, I will work for additional free parking, reintroduce inorganic rubbish collection free of cost, return access to swimming pools and restore many other facilities that are currently either not available or charged,” he said.
Jagan said that he will staunchly oppose installation of gambling (Pokie) machines and liquor outlets and support moves to increase the presence of Police and make communities and places of public movement safer.
“As a part of my efforts to support businesses, I will work with the concerned authorities and stakeholders to ease commercial lending and mortgage loans to people. There is also a growing need for free bus services in some parts of the Manurewa Ward,” he said.
It is important that people vote in the ensuing local elections, he said.
“I request all eligible voters to exercise their franchise by returning the ballot papers by post on or before October 8, 2019,” he said.
