In search of top people for top jobs

After BNZ announced the building of 31 BNZ Partners Business Centres around the country, the Bank followed with a ‘Chairman Programme’ to further help connect the bank with the local community.

Each Partners Centre will have its own Chairman, with BNZ already announcing five well‐known New Zealand names for this position.

Former Waitakere City Mayor Bob Harvey was named Chairman of BNZ Partners Centre Henderson, where he said, “The role offers a perfect combination of my experiences of being the former mayor and building a rich legacy of successful business in the former city of Waitakere. My belief is every great community needs a great bank.”

Dame Susan Devoy was recently appointed as Chair of BNZ Partners Tauranga.

She said she can use her position as a community connector to help add value to both clients businesses, and to the Bank.

Each Chairman is an industry leader, who is bought on for both their knowledge of the business world, and their knowledge of that community, thanks to their connection with that region.

Businessman Greg Gent is the Chairman of BNZ Partners Northland.

He has a clear idea of what he can bring to the role. He said, “I am a born and bred Northlander and want to see the best for the region. The Chairman role allows me to add value to Northland and the business community.”

Similarly, Gary Monk, the 2010 Enterprise North Shore Hall of Fame laureate, was named chairman of BNZ Partners North Shore.

He said, “The role provides an opportunity to assist the Bank to connect with its customers, to help the business community and focus on improving these companies and the North Shore economy.”

Former Chief Executive of Fisher & Paykel Appliances John Bongard was brought on as Chairman of BNZ Partners Highbrook, with his passion for South Auckland and desire to help its business landscape a key part of the chairman role.

Each chair is personally selected by the Managing Partner of each Partners Centre, who work closely with one another to ensure BNZ Partners clients are getting the best from their Bank.

A number of chairs are set to be named in the coming weeks and months, with 26 of the 31 planned BNZ Partners Centres operational.

BNZ Partners are the Title Sponsor of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2011 and Sponsors of the Best Large Business Category.
