Nadi, Fiji, May 21, 2018

The 21st Anniversary Bula Interhash is ready to roll from May 24 to 27, 2018.

The biggest sporting event in Nadi has attracted close to 1700 hashers from 58 countries with the largest contingent from Australia followed by USA, UK, Malaysia, New Zealand and Indonesia.

More than 50 % of hashers have already arrived in the country.

In keeping with hash tradition, the motto, aims and objectives of this unique sporting event, the Hash House Harriers will be given a chance and choices to run in eight different run sites, stretching from Momi to Lomolomo countryside on May 26 and 27, 2018.

Chance and Choice

The tracks or trails have been carefully chosen and marked and all of them have short, medium and long distances, ranging from three to five kms for short and up to 14 kms for the long runs. Due to difficult and different terrain, mountains, creeks and rivers, hashers are expected to finish the runs within two hours.

All the runs are expected to start by 1030 am and up to 200 will be allowed in each of the runs. They will have a chance to select a different run site the following day and by doing so will discover the real Fiji.

Red Dress Run

The Red Dress Run (RDR) which is a special charitable event will take place in Lautoka on May 24, 2018. RDR registration is now closed having reached 550 participants.

The organisers expect to raise more than F$ 40,000 for Nadi Hospital.

Lautoka City will be a Sea of Red from midday as all the hashers will be dressed in fancy red dresses running through the main streets and the outskirts of Lautoka City and this particular event is considered to be the largest ever charity run in Fiji.

The RDR will start and finish at Lautoka Club who have accommodated the request of the organisers from 2 pm.

Earlier, the Lautoka City Council will host lunch at the Botanical Gardens from 1-2 pm and all the buses from Nadi will leave at 12 noon.

Paradise Beverages is the major sponsor of RDR.

The Official Opening will be held on May 25 at PCP and the gates open at 5 pm.

Bidding for 2020 Event

Five countries are bidding for 2020 Interhash. Among them are India, Dubai, Trinidad and Tobago, New Zealand and Malaysia. All registered hashers will be given a chance to vote on Saturday, May 26, 2018 and the winner will be announced on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the closing ceremony.
