As the panel of judges evaluates the entries received in various categories of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards (IBA) 2009, Indiana Publications (NZ), owners of the newspaper and the IBA are busy planning the Awards Night programme, due to be held at the Stamford Plaza Hotel on November 16.

Associate Sales and Marketing Director Sunny Kaushal said the Hotel was gearing itself to host the Awards Dinner.

Sunny.jpg“The entire Lobby, exclusively kept for Indian Newslink guests, will be transformed into a magnificent banquet showcase, which has never been witnessed before. We will be going to some extraordinary lengths to ensure that the event is marked as the best in the business and social calendar of Auckland this year,” he said.

Mr Kaushal said Stamford Plaza enjoys a special partnership with IBA.

Indian Newslink held its first Indian Business Awards in November 2008, following the success of which our Hotel is delighted to be a sponsor for IBA 2009.

“It is important to recognise and reward successful Indian businesses and Stamford Plaza has always been keen to support such initiatives,” he said.

The Hotel will present the Best Innovation Business Award to the winner at the Awards Night Dinner.

Awards Night- Planet Ayurveda.jpgAuckland based Planet Ayurveda Group of Companies Ayurvedic Consultant Dr S Ajit said his organisation was happy to be involved in the Awards programme.

His organisation is the sponsor of the Best Retail Business category.

Dr Ajit said he had decided to support this aspect of business, since the retail business sector demands high levels of professionalism, passion and dedication to make an impact on the market.

“Retail business may be exacting but gives owners, partners, workers, everyone in fact, a great sense of satisfaction and fulfilment as they see an increasing number of satisfied customers,” he said.

Dr Ajit said as a premier organisation involved in fostering the wellbeing of the people of New Zealand, he was happy to be involved with Indian Newslink, which he said, “is a premier organisation involved in keeping tens of thousands of readers well informed.”

Awards Night to reward Millennium Foods Limited.jpgMillennium Foods Limited Managing Director Saji Philips said as an entrepreneur who launched his company with a modest investment, he understood the intricacies, challenges and problems involved.

“I have realised that success comes to those who work hard, follow principles of honesty and integrity and serve customers with sincerity.

“But until last year, there was no dedicated awards scheme to celebrate the success of Indian companies. Indian Newslink has fulfilled a great need,” he said.

Mr Philips said he was keen to support the project as a sponsor, since he believed in identifying and rewarding success.

As a company involved in the food industry, the ‘Best Restaurant Business’ category was the appropriate choice,” he said.

Prime Minister John Key, Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi (Government of India, New Delhi) and Waitakere Mayor Bob Harvey will be Guests of Honour at the event.

Ministers, Members of Parliament, top Government officials and business leaders will also be present on the occasion.

John Campbell, who hosts his nightly Campbell Live current affairs programme on TV3, will be the Master of Ceremonies.

The programme will include classical and contemporary dances, fashion show, dinner and awards presentation.
