Indian envoy presents credentials

India’s new High Commissioner to New Zealand, retired Admiral and Chief of Indian Navy Sureesh Mehta presented his credentials to Governor General Sir Anand Satyanand at the Government House Vogel in Lower Hutt on December 9.

The ceremony included a Guard of Honour and speeches.

He had arrived in the country a day earlier.

Among those present at the ceremony were Lady Susan Satyanand, Mr Mehta’s wife Maria Teresa, daughter Sangeeta, Ethnic Affairs Minister Pansy Wong and First Secretary at the Indian High Commission Kunal Roy.
