The Police are continuing their investigation of the missing Indian student but at press time there was no clue as to the whereabouts of the 23-year old young man.

Western Area Commander Inspector Jim Wilson, who is in charge of the investigation, told Indian Newslink that there was more work to do.

“An independent internal review confirmed that we are on the right track and that we have taken the right steps in trying to solve the mystery. Nothing more can be revealed now,” he said.

As reported in the earlier editions of this newspaper, Srikanth Rayadurgam has been missing since October 1 when he left his Mt Albert home in Auckland.

A number of his belongings were found along the West Haven harbour during the following two days. His brother-in-law Nagesh Kakanoor has been cooperating with the police and has been in constant contact with this reporter.

Inquiries made at a number of fast food restaurants and cafes located on Queen Street in the central business district where the young man was last seen, have not provided any clues relating to his whereabouts.

Prime Minister John Key told us that he had complete faith in the competence of the New Zealand Police to solve the case and that he sympathised with the family.

Anyone with genuine information about Srikanth should contact the Avondale Police Station on (09) 8205748- Venkat Raman
