Deepavali reflects the Indian spirit and ethos in a very special sense.

Its symbolism of light is at the core of the Indian view of life and traditions.

Light stands for knowledge and wisdom, and it is knowledge and wisdom that liberates individuals and enlightens societies.

It is rightly so that India’s emergence today on the global scene is led by its knowledge economy.

Members of the Indian community can joyously celebrate Diwali in New Zealand, fully cognisant of the fact that they make a significant contribution to the well-being and prosperity of the New Zealand society.

The National Bank has a long history of supporting our local communities.

As a community orientated service provider, we are proud to be sponsoring the Best Medium Business Award at the forthcoming Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards Night on November 16, 2009 at Stamford Plaza Hotel in Auckland City (see separate story on Page 3).

As a part of our service to the Indian community, we have some Diwali Specials for our customers. Please visit any of our branches anywhere in New Zealand to find out more.

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali 2009, it is a great pleasure for me to extend to the readers of Indian Newslink and all members of the Indian community our warmest felicitations and cordial greetings.
