Dedication breeds success

A positive mental attitude, coupled by dedication is a sure road to success in any endeavour says Pravina Chavda, our Model of the Fortnight.

The twenty-something Wellingtonian apparently has what it takes to be accountable for her own actions. That is her profession too – a Management Accountant at a transport firm in the capital – a job secured following her qualification in Commerce and Administration (a graduate degree) and Professional Accounting (a Diploma) from the Victoria University.

“My ambition is to become a Chartered Accountant,” she said.

Pravina is keen to do professional modelling as well, even as she pursues accounting for a living. She was a contestant at the Miss Wellington event last year, which she said was “a thoroughly rewarding experience.”

The New Zealand-born young woman (her parents migrated from India many moons ago), is believed to be a photographer’s delight and her pictures here and in our web edition would display that fact.

“Working with photographers during the beauty contest was also an exhilarating experience, providing me an insight into the modelling and fashion industry,” she said.

The tasks were exacting but Pravina says she enjoys challenges and hard work.

“The learning process included workshops on deportment, poise, public speaking, hair care and makeup. My family and friends encouraged and inspired me,” she said.

The travel bug has bitten Pravina and her recent holiday in Hong Kong and Macau has stirred her passion to visit places around the world. She plans to be in Las Vegas and perhaps other areas in the Nevada this year.
