Spiritual affinity begets social harmony
The younger generation must be taught family and social values with love and compassion, enabling them to simultaneously lead a pious and secular life.
That is the underlying philosophy of Hariprasad Swami Maharaj, who will be in Christchurch from February 15 to 20 and in Auckland from February 21 to March 4.
The founder of the Yogi Divine Society, an organisation that has grown from its roots in Gujarat to have several centres in India and overseas including Britain, Canada, France, Germany, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates and the US, believes that guiding the youth through the righteous path should be prime responsibility of every society.
“Faith, Sect and Religion are terms that are associated with the spiritual journey, leading to the Supreme Godhead. Although seemingly different in their practices, all religions advocate similar principles for revival of the spirit towards divinity.”
Yogi Divine Society New Zealand Inc President Mohan Daya said Swami Maharaj had constantly endeavoured for the social, economic and spiritual uplift of the youth.
“With his selfless love, compassionate care and divine blessings, misguided youth have discovered a new meaning and direction in life. He has instilled confidence, faith and conviction in the youth, giving them the strength to rise above inherent weakness and the will power to overcome obstacles in their lives,” he said.
Mr Daya said that the great sage had influenced millions of young men and women around the world to lead positive and spiritually balanced lives.
“They are free from vices and addictions,” he said.
The 75-year-old Saint is renowned for his Divine Mantra of Atmiyata, interpreted as “Spiritual Harmony within self, family and society through Guru Bhakti (Obeisance to Master or Teacher) and Religion.”
Further details of his visit can be obtained from Ashok Rohit on 021-617352 (for Christchurch); Mohan Daya 0274-835437 or Ramesh Maisuria on 021-631983 (for Auckland).
