Visiting Guru shows route to happiness
Those seeking happiness may not find it in their neighbourhood, community, society or even environment; but those looking within would not only recognise its presence but also maintain it as an everlasting factor in their life.
That is a simplified teaching of the Chinmaya Mission Chairman and Spiritual Head Swami Tejomayananda, who will present nightly discourses at 730 pm at the Dorothy Winstone Centre of Auckland Girls Grammar School from April 13 to 17.
Brahmachari Adarsh Chaitanya of the New Zealand Chinmaya Mission said the visiting spiritual leader teaches people to achieve self-realisation.
“Swami Tejomayananda believes that people are fascinated to know about life after death but do not understand the importance of knowing about life after birth.
“His teachings on achieving happiness in this life are based on his own experience, discussions with other saints and understanding of the scriptures,” he said.
The core of his nightly lecture will be ‘Tips for Happy Living,’ based on his Gujarati book, Jivan Sutrani (Aphorisms for Happy Living).
Brahmachari Chaitanya said ‘Tips for Happy Living’ demonstrate how to live happily and outlive life.
“The teachings of the spiritual head deal with common issues such as turning potential into performance, achieving harmony in relationships and tuning the mind to positivity.”
Swami Chinmayananda initiated Swami Tejomayananda into ‘Sanyasa’ (Renunciation) in 1983. An outstanding teacher of Vedanta and an accomplished poet, author and composer, Swami Tejomayananda has conducted more than 300 Geeta Gyana Yagnas (Spiritual Discourses) throughout the world in English, Hindi and Marathi.
