Programmes improve community health

Programmes improve- Healthy Diet.jpgTo hundreds of people resident in the Auckland region, Manukau based Anand Isher Educational and Community Trust is an epitome of social service.

Health camps that enable people to have free medical examination have become a regular event, much to the relief of many in the metropolis.

The free Chiropractic Care session held on March 14 in association with the New Zealand College of Chiropractic at the Manurewa Gurdwara was one such.

Trust Administrator Rajvinder Singh said doctors and senior interns examined a large number of men and women and educated them on the need for a good and healthy spine.

“The programme included demonstrations on the importance of chiropractic care in restoring and maintaining good health without the use of drug or surgery,” he said.

“Healthy Eating on a Budget” was the subject of a seminar held on March 20 in association with the Counties Manukau District Health Board at the Activities Centre of the Trust in Manurewa on March 20.

Varsha Asrani and Sherin Johny conducted the programme in Hindi, explaining nutrition and nourishment Programmes improve- Chiropractic Care.jpgissues, and suggesting cost-effective recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. 

The Trust will mark Baisakhi with a daylong programme called, Vaisakhi on the Square on April 10 at the Manukau Square in Manukau City.
