Model of the Fortnight
HR permeates Human Resources
Homes, offices, communities, societies and nations are made-up of people and hence progress as a country depends on individual progress and prosperity.
Such is the belief of Zoya Parmar, out Model of the Fortnight.
Believing as she does that Human beings are social animals and that no person can live in isolation, Zoya puts people before all other material possessions.
“I love people-to-people relationship and face-to-face contacts. That is probably why Human Resources Management has been a source of endearment and inspiration throughout my life. My career path in human resources development has helped me get ahead,” she said.
Zoya says HR is one of the few fields, which allows interaction with people of varied background and cultural heritage.
The Mumbai-born young woman has what it takes to be a successful executive, and since her migration to New Zealand six years ago, Zoya has been gathering experience in a variety of roles, before she realised her proclivities.
“I decided to obtain an appropriate university qualification to take up Human Resources Management as a serious profession,” she said.
According to Zoya, India and New Zealand are two different worlds, each with its own priorities and human wealth.
“But parental guidance, family unity and traditional values are paramount in the success of every individual. I have been blessed with high values on each of these counts and family comes first,” she said.
Zoya’s hobbies include dancing, squash and badminton.
“Every human being should know what distinguishes him or her from other animals.
“When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile,” she said.
