Indian scholar for Eid Al Milad events
Members of the New Zealand Muslim community will have the benefit and honour of listening to the lectures of one of the most prolific and accomplished Islamic scholars in the world.
Maulana Tahseen Raza Qadri of India, renowned for his expertise on the Holy Quran and all aspects of Islam, will be the chief guest at a number of functions due to be held to commemorate the Birthday of Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him).
The festivities actually began on February 26 at a function organised by the Lynfield Islamic Centre at 143 White Swan Road in Mt Roskill.

Mr Qadri spoke at the festivities on February 27 organised by the New Zealand Muslim Inc at the Metro Theatre in Mangere, a Manukau City suburb.
At a large gathering of men, women and children, he explained the teachings of the Prophet, saying that they are relevant not only to Muslims but also people of other ethnic groups and faiths.
Mr Qadri will be the Chief Guest at the Tauranga Muslim Association Inc meeting and dinner today (March 1), due to begin at 7 pm at 85, 18th Avenue.
He will speak on the life and works of Prophet Mohammed in Wellington on March 6.
Labour MP Charles Chauvel will be the Chief Guest at the programme, organised by the Wellington branch of New Zealand Muslim League, will begin at 615 pm at the Tawa Primary School, located at Oxford Street, Tawa at 615 pm.
Mr Qadri will be the guest of Maunatul Islam Trust of New Zealand and West Auckland Milad Association on March 7 at the Milad Al Milad celebrations due to be held at 530 pm in Mangere (at Skipton Hall, 53 Skipton Road).
The lecture is open to all, including Non-Muslims and others.
