Manukau Indians plan new ventures

Manukau Indians plan- Office-bearers.jpgThe new office-bearers of the Manukau Indian Association hope to conduct new programmes and launch projects for the larger benefit of the community.

These would include revitalising its Women’s Wing and consider ways and means of fostering the welfare of those in need.

At their Annual General Meeting held on April 18, Association members elected Ranjna Patel, a prominent community leader and Director of the Award Winning (Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2009) East Tamaki Health Care was unanimously elected to the post of President.

It is understood she is the first woman to head the organisation.

The Meeting also elected unanimously Paramjit Singh Dhatt (Vice-President), Manish Tanna (Secretary), Gurmeeta Kaur Bath (Assistant Secretary), Hansa Naran (Treasurer) and Ajay Kapoor (Assistant Treasurer).

The Executive Committee comprises Dr Anil Channa, Bachubhai Soma, Balubhai  Mistry, Balwant Dayal, Cecil Lochan, Dahyabhai Patel, Dhirubhai Patel, Irvinder Kaur Bakshi, Kaushal Dhar, Keshavbhai Govind,  Mohanpal Singh Bath, Raj Bedi, Reena Patel, Resham Singh and Suresh Ramji.

Mr Tanna said the Association will shortly announce its plans for the year and promote major projects such as Diwali.
