Vegetarian Day in Wellington

The Wellington branch of the New Zealand Vegetarian Society and the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKON) are organising the annual World Vegetarian Day on Sunday, September 20 at the Overseas Terminal located at Oriental Bay in the Capital.

Called, Food and Lifestyle Festival, the one-day event will highlight the healthy aspects of being a vegetarian and the extensive variety to which vegetables and fruits lend themselves to promoting a healthy life.

Organisers said the Festival will be filled with fun and music, apart from sumptuous food and beverages.

“Visitors will be able to obtain information on animal-friendly products and perhaps take home recipes based on vegetarian diet.

“The Festival will provide be a great opportunity to learn more about how we can help the planet and reduce the impact we make on it for future generations,” they said.
