Sponsors of the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards 2009 are gearing up to
showcase their products and services at the Awards Night scheduled to be held at
Stamford Plaza Hotel Auckland on November 16.
Murray Sharma & Associates Ltd Principal Navin Sharma said his company was keen
to promote the importance of maintaining good accounting standards, a clean
balance sheet and good cash flow management.
“Owners of small companies often find it difficult to concentrate on business
and meting their financial obligations. They need the assistance and guidance of
professional accountants and management consultants,” he said.
His company is sponsoring the Best Professional Business Award.
Mr Sharma said every enterprise needs the services of professionals in good and
bad times, since the importance of good corporate governance does not change
with the economic climate.
“All businesses need the services of professional managers, accountants and
business consultants to sustain productivity and profitability. They need to
write and practice a good business plan and keep pace with the market trends.
Those keen on improving their market share must seek the services of
professional organisations; it is a small price to pay,” he said.
National Bank of New Zealand Business Banking Regional Manager Andrew Webster
said the success of Indian businesses did good not only to the business
community but also the economy as a whole.
“We have helped many Indian businesses succeed and we are committed to
continuing such support. We have a dedicated Migrant Banking team which
specialises in assisting new and recent migrants establish and run their
businesses properly and successfully,” he said.
Mr Webster said the National Bank was proud to be involved in IBA 2009,
sponsoring the Best Medium Business Award.
“We add value to our relationship, offering more than just banking services.
We help our customers to establish their businesses and introduce them to our
own business networks,” he said.
Prime Minister John Key, Opposition Leader Phil Goff and Waitakere Mayor Bob
Harvey will be Guests of Honour at the event.
Ministers, Members of Parliament, top Government officials and business leaders
will also be present on the occasion.
John Campbell, who hosts his nightly Campbell Live current affairs programme on
TV3, will be the Master of Ceremonies.
The management of Stamford Plaza Hotel has drawn up an elaborate plan to convert
its main lobby into the Awards Night area with a specially erected stage,
state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and close-circuit television and other
innovative ideas.
“With about 400 people including dignitaries and businesses expected to attend
this important event, we will not spare any effort to make it sublime,”
General Manager Peter Gee said.
Stamford Plaza Hotel is sponsoring the Best Innovation Business Award.
A panel of judges, independent of this newspaper, is currently evaluating the
entries received in various categories of IBA 2009.
