Model of the Fortnight

It is common (almost important) for the young mind to reach for the stars,
aspire to do better in every endeavour and become someone who is talked about
day after day.
Ambition motivates people to act and triggers them to venture into new areas of
activities and anchor upon success.
Nothing wrong with any of these, for the youngsters today need to ignite their
thoughts and kick into action.
“Every person should be passionate about something (or someone) in life;
otherwise, you would be the most boring person in the world,” says Sabrina
Farouk, our Model of the Fortnight.
While she has what it takes to be a model, there are several other attributes to
this young woman, who will someday go places and have the last laugh.
The world of fashion and Tinsel Town are among them.
Sabrina is not one of those who talks more and does less. In fact, she
apparently speaks less but achieves more.
The youngster arrived in New Zealand from her native Fiji in 1997 to continue
her school education in Auckland. Born and raised in a Muslim family that
comprises four persons including her parents and a sister, Sabrina takes her
heart where her mind should go; which is perhaps why, she is a successful
theatre nurse at the Southern Cross Hospital located at New Market.
“I love this job because I love to take care of people; encourage them to be
positive in their outlook and retain confidence in our medical practitioners and
the health system. I have learnt a lot on this assignment,” she said.
We have no doubt on that score but we also know that she works hard to be an
achiever in life.
“I am passionate about myself and hope to make my dreams come true some day. I
am also confident of being a successful model,” she said.
There is another, untold side to Sabrina.
She loves horror movies, and for a right measure, chocolates.
