Judges Comment:

Inderbir Sodhi, or ‘Ish,’ as he is commonly known, has played for the Papatoetoe Cricket Club since he was six years old. This year, he was instrumental in bagging 43 wickets for his Club.

His achievements to date include the Auckland Under 17s, Auckland Under 19s and the New Zealand Under 19s.

In the Under 19 Quadrangular Series held in Sydney this year, Inderbir took three wickets against India and four wickets against Australia.

Simon Poole of the Papatoetoe Cricket Club described Inderbir as ‘An inspiration’ to all of Papatoetoe young cricketers.

“He is always the first at training and is always prepared to pass on his knowledge to the youngsters,” he said.
