New Zealand Prime Minister John Key commenced his official programme in India with a ceremonial reception and a colourful Guard of Honour accorded to State Guests at Rashtrapati Bhavan, the home of the President of India. Among those present were India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Minister of State for Finance Arjun Ram Meghwal, High Commissioners of New Zealand and India and other officials.

He later laid a wreath at Ram Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi is buried and held a brief discussion with M J Akbar, Minister of State for External Affairs, in the absence of Sushma Swaraj, Minister of External Affairs. We were told she was not well.
