Kate Daly heads for new BNZ role

One of the most successful communications expert is to join Bank of New Zealand as its Director of People and Communications.

A BNZ communique said that Ms Daly’s appointment is subject to approval by Reserve Bank of New Zealand and that her date of joining will be announced later.

BNZ Managing Director and Chief Executive Anthony Healy described the appointment as ‘exciting.’

Ambitious goals

“Kate brings to BNZ a wealth of experience, a superb skillset and proven leadership ability. This means she is well placed to drive the team to attract and retain the very best people, helping us to deliver on our ambitious business and reputational goals. To have someone of her calibre join our team is very exciting,” he said.

Ms Daly is currently Chief People and Communications Officer at Fletcher Building.

She is responsible for the team managing business partnering, industrial relations, organisational development, remuneration and benefits, recruitment, systems and communication and crisis management.

Wealth of Experience

Prior to this role, she spent seven years at Coca-Cola Amatil where she was General Manager, People & Performance and Communications.

She has also held senior roles at Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch while based in London.

Ms Daly said that she was looking forward to joining the team at BNZ.

“It has been invigorating hearing about what BNZ is doing as it moves into a new age of banking and I am looking forward to being involved, and contributing what I can to the Bank’s culture and success,” she said.
