Kejriwal and Aam Admi Party disappoint Indian Diaspora

Elections in Delhi are just round the corner and the election campaign of all parties is in full swing.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal is not leaving any stone unturned in his election campaign.

But NRI volunteers of AAP are conspicuous by their absence in Delhi this time.

Even otherwise, news of campaigning by Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) is not published.

Why are NRIs missing from action?

The reason is that Kejriwal has played with their emotions and love for their motherland.

NRIs and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) from across the globe had supported AAP wholeheartedly for the sole promise of ‘Alternative Politics.’

Use and Throw Policy

But in return Kejriwal just played the use and throw policy with them.

The Indian Diaspora made headlines by flying to India for the Delhi State elections held in 2013 and 2015. But this time, they are keeping themselves away from the campaign.

It is evident that over the years, AAP has lost the support of the Indian diaspora.

AAP’s genesis was in the basic principles of Alternative Politics.

But Kejriwal slowly and steadily did away with those principles, which include financial transparency, internal democracy and internal vigilance.

AAP had promised the right to recall and the right to reject within the Party.

On the contrary, AAP is like any other political party.

I will be in Delhi next week with a team of 51 NRIs.

Chanda Bandh Satyagraha

We will go door-to-door under the banner of ‘Chanda Bandh Satyagraha’ or ‘No List, No Donation Campaign’ and request Delhi residents not to donate to AAP as their Party has done away with financial transparency. AAP’s political funding is also opaque.

People from across the globe and in India saw hope in Kejriwal and had shown faith in him.

But they got betrayal in return. He himself has discarded all the fundamental principles and turned AAP into one among 1800 political parties in India.

I have produced a six-episode web series on ‘Anna Aandolan’ and the Aam Aadmi Party.

The web series titled, ‘Transparency: Pardarshita’ is soon to be released on OTT platforms.

The Trailer of the web series along with two songs from the series namely ,”Bol Re Dilli Bol” and “Kitna Chanda Jeb Mein Aaya” were released recently.
