Krishna Rocks with a Carnival

A group of devotees of Lord Krishna are organising ‘Krishna Karnival,’ a day-long event of prayers and performances in Auckland.

‘Krishna Rocks,’ as the Movement is called, will host the spiritual event at the Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan complex located at 12 Princes Street in Onehunga on May 3, 2014.

The programme, scheduled to be held from 10 am to 5 pm, will inspire families including women and children with Bhajans and other prayer items, spiritual games and stage performances.

Krishna Rocks President Sourav Sorte said, “As well as amusements for children, the Karnival will include Talent, Spiritual Poetry and Fancy Dress competitions. There will be stall selling spiritual items and food at the Karnival.

‘Krishna Rocks’ is a group of friends practising Krishna Consciousness, and organising Bhajans, Kirtans and spiritual events, he said.

“We are passionate about Krishna and Bhakti. We strive to spread God Consciousness through our activities,” Mr Sorte said.

“The Group performed a 32-hour-non-stop Bhajans and Kirtans with a single choir in February 2013, in an attempt to break the world record.”

‘Krishna Rocks’ has launched a website (www.wikikrishna.com).

According to Mr Sorte, the website aims to create a repository of all scriptures, puranas, lectures by various Maharajas (Emperors), video and audio clips.

“The website is being developed as a single window of knowledge relating to Lord Krishna. Similar to Wikipedia, this website will have the facility to carry articles and citations of people from all over the world,” he said.
