Lower rates encourage global talkathon

A new service claiming to provide low rate and global connectivity through mobile telephone network has just been launched in New Zealand.

Auckland based Talkncity (of the Aveonbpo Limited Group) provides the facility called, Handy Talk, through what it claimed, state-of-the-art technology on all mobile service providers including Telecom, Vodafone, Telstra, 2degrees and others to calls anywhere in the world.

Indian Newslink has not tested the product, but company Director Ken Soman (aka Kandeepan) said the service is offered on pre-paid account basis, which is currently popular in Europe.

“The system uses a unique toll-free access number to communicate from any part of New Zealand to worldwide destinations. We are able to offer low cost calls from mobile to global connections, as well as for calls within the country,” he said.

He said customers can expect speedy connection, clarity and cost-effectiveness.

Customers purchasing the prepaid cards would be required to register at a toll-free number prior to making calls.

“There is no connection charge, surcharge or expiry date for the account.

“We do not claim to be the best or the cheapest in the market. We are however unique in offering a trouble-free product through a company that is transparent and sincere, aiming at customer satisfaction,” he said.

Customers are not required to sign any contract, he added.

Cards can be recharged for $10 and as per the current plan, the company offers $5 free talk time after every $10 recharge.

According to company information, calls to landlines and mobile phones within New Zealand would cost 20 cents per minute, to India and China, respectively six cents and four cents a minute, to Fiji at 30 cents (landline and mobile), while calls to landlines in Australia would cost six cents a minute and to mobiles 20 cents a minute.

“The amount remaining as credit in an account will not expire or diminish if the customer does not use the card. There is no expiry date and customers can top up the account anytime either by recharge at terminal points, over telephone or through the Internet,” Mr Soman said.
