Maiden Diwali at Alexandra Park

Alexandra Park in Central Auckland, a popular venue for an increasing number of Indian events, will host its first Festival of Lights on Saturday, October 26, 2013.

Visitors would experience the Park’s unique ambience and hospitality, enhanced by an extensive banquet put together by Resident Chef Malkit Golian and his team.

The programme will be held in Tasman Room that offers spacious dining environment, with causal and friendly service.

A spokesperson said that smiling young wait staff will make customers feel welcome as they celebrate with Alexandra Park for the inaugural event.

Malkit has been a source of endearment since he joined the Park’s team in 2010. With ten years of experience gained at a number of top hotels and restaurants, he hopes to develop and demonstrate his culinary art to diners.

Qualifications and training have enabled Malkit to prepare and serve food items that conform to the highest standards of quality and hygiene.

Delicious food

He has a passion for Indian food and has developed a great reputation over the years. Some of the delicious dishes that he plans to prepare for Diwali include Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, Dhal and Bombay Aloo.

“From succulent main courses to sumptuous desserts, he keeps every dish authentic and truly satisfying. The flavours are sure to wow local foodies. The buffet menu is halal and there will also be an array of vegetable dishes and desserts,” the spokesperson said.

Among the highlights would be entertainment including live singing, Bollywood dancing and a DJ.

Anamika Singh, winner of the Miss Indianz 2012 title (Indian Newslink, May 1, 2012) will host the event.

Tickets priced at $45 per person, tables seating 10 persons (at the cost of nine persons), and discounts for children are available.

“Alexandra Park is centrally located in Epsom with a function centre and on site bar and eatery, plus TAB and gaming machines. Alexandra Park can cater for your wedding, school ball, conference, private party and also has live harness racing most Friday nights. There is ample free parking and a friendly and informative team to cater to your every need,” the spokesperson said.
