Make A Wish for the unfortunate

The family of the late Raman Ranchhod has announced the establishment of a charity to support people with terminal illnesses fulfill their wish.

Mahesh Ranchhod, son of the late Mr Raman Ranchhod made the announcement along with his wife Tejal at the Seventh Annual Indian Newslink Sir Anand Satyanand Lecture held on Monday, August 7, 2017 at Alexandra Park, Auckland.

The new initiative, undertaken with Indian Newslink is in memory of Mr Raman Ranchhod who passed away after a brief illness on June 6, 2017. A great philanthropist and community worker, he helped thousands of people during his life on his own and through the ‘Ranchhod Foundation.’

Helping People

Mahesh said that the Ranchhod Foundation was registered as a charitable organisation in 2011 with a vision of the betterment of humankind.

“The Foundation has teamed up with Indian Newslink to form the Ranchhod Foundation ‘Make-A-Wish.’ Its aim is to change the life of a person suffering from life-debilitating or terminal medical conditions, or a genuine hardship due to circumstances beyond their control,” he said.

Tejal said that the Foundation will announce application procedures through this newspaper in its future editions.

“The wishes will be vetted through an experienced Board, and we are anticipating for the first recipient to be announced at the Tenth Annual Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards scheduled to be held on November 27, 2017,” she said.
