Father Christmas will arrive a week earlier in Auckland to enable the members of the Auckland Malayali Samajam to enjoy an evening of fun, food, games and entertainment.
The event will be held at the Mt Eden War Memorial Hall (487 Dominion Road) in Mt Roskill on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 6 pm.
Samajam President Siju Jacob said that a colourful cultural programme will be the highlight of Christmas festivities this year.
“We propose to conduct competition for individuals (Father Christmas), teams (Christmas Tree) and groups (Cake Decoration). Three would be prizes for winners in each category,” he said.
He said Carol songs, skits and messages from priests are also on the agenda.
“Homemade food, sumptuous and delicious, will be served at the venue. Food would be served free for those with current membership, while their guests would be charged a fee,” Mr Jacob said.
