The Auckland Malayali Samajam members elected Roy Pallimalil to the post of President at their Annual General Meeting held on May 15.
They also elected Annie Rajan and Roy Varghese to the respective posts of Vice-President and Secretary.
Among the other office-bearers elected were Sajeev Abraham (Joint Secretary), Geo Roy (Treasurer), Prasad VG, Dr Molly Shaji, Sabu Varghese and Sujit Zachariah (Committee Members).
Outgoing President Sasi Nambissan said the past year was eventful for the Samajam and that a number of programmes were organised to amuse, entertain, inform and motivate the members and their families.
Mr Pallimalil said the Samajam would plan more activities and programmes during the current year, one of the most impressive of which will be Onam Celebrations.
“Onam festivities will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Malaeyola Hall, 16 Waiokouri Place, Mangere. We will announce details of the programme in the next issue of Indian Newslink,” he said.
