A popular group of artistes from Malaysia is set to participate in the Tamil New Year celebrations in Wellington and Auckland later this month.
Performers belonging to the ‘Vehaara Arts,’ an Award-winning group of Malaysia will be the star attraction at ‘Chithirai Vizha 2017’ (New Year Festival 2017) being organised by the Wellington Mutamizh Sangam at the Performing Arts Centre, Sacred Heart College (65 Laings Road, Lower Hutt) on Wellington on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 6 pm.
Sangam President Dr Siva Kumar said that tickets, priced at $20 per person and $15 for children between five and 12 years are now available.

The Malaysian artistes will perform for members and guests of the Auckland Tamil Association on the following day (April 30, 2017) at the Freeman’s Bay Community Centre, 52 Hepburn Street, Ponsonby, Auckland City.
Association President Vai Ravindran said that local artistes will also perform at the event and that the programme will commence at 6 pm.
“We organise social and sports events to foster fellowship among members and the wider community. The Association will participate in community services, interact with other cultural groups and contribute to other multi-ethnic activities that promote South Indian culture,” he said.
