Mangere United honours players

Mangere United’s NRFL Second Division team missed on promotion, finishing in the third place following a three-team race towards the back end of the season.

Disappointed Club Officials pondered as to what they should do to improve the performance of the team.

James Hoytt took top honours, scoring the most goals for the season.

Officials of the Club voted him ‘Player of the Year.’

Mangere United Soccer Club held its annual prize giving night on September 8 at the Mangere Centre Park Stadium.

The toast of the Club at the event was the two masters teams Rewa Master AFF Over 35s and Auckland Coop Taxi’s AFF Over 35s, both winning their section this year.

Elated team officials presented their players with Auckland Football winners medals.

Mangere United Auckland Coop Team managers Billy Dayal and Ajay Ram said that all members, officials and players were persistently pursuing excellence.

Mangere United Rewa Masters player Manager Iqbal Hussein said that it was a rewarding year, which will be cherished for years to come.

Club President Feroz Hassan said that future plans include a partnership with Counties Manukau Sports for conducting a summer programme for the youth this year.
