Life-supporting systems

The Company’s Lounge Manager Carlos Delgado, said that Akhilesh is fully dependent on machines and ICU support.

“At this stage, it is difficult to predict how long Akhilesh would be in the Hospital or be treated within ICU,” he said.

Mr Delgado said that he and his Company are working with Immigration New Zealand and Indian High Commission to speed up the procedures for the arrival of Akhilesh’s father from his native Mumbai.

Akhilesh, who is not married, arrived in New Zealand in 2017 to pursue Level 8 course in Mechanical Engineering at AIT University. Following the completion of the course last year, he joined the Compass Group.

“We are extremely sorry that Akhilesh is so unwell. He did not have a medical history prior to his arrival in New Zealand. He is a very pleasant young man. We are all hoping that he would recover,” Mr Delgado said.

He said that he has created a Givealittle page for him. Please visit https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/akhilesh-needs-our-help
