Model of the Fortnight

Models by habit and choice prefer to have a figure that appeases people and those with accounting as a profession, have both eyes on figure (s).

Among the latter is our Model of the Fortnight, Ashna Achari.

This Fiji-born Chartered Accountant in the making moonlights as an accountant and teacher, which she says makes life interesting and busy.

“Teaching came as a natural choice since both my parents are in this field,” she said.

Armed with a degree in Commerce (Accounting and Management) from the University of Auckland, Ashna pursued her postgraduate diploma in the subject and is currently in the process of completing her MBA.

“Accounting provides me the passion for excellence, a quality that helps in show business, especially modelling. I also love travelling,” she said.

Ashna is a globetrotter and manages to visit as many countries as possible.

“It is my dream to visit a new country at least once a year. I love meeting new people, experiencing different cultures and lifestyles,” she said.

Her busy schedule includes teaching international students and understanding their views on issues.

But she has time to relax and pursue her hobbies, which include time out with family and friends, movies and sports.

“I consider Work-life balance important. I hope to become a Chartered Accountant in the near future. Meanwhile, modelling is fun.

“Everything in life has an opportunity cost, so you cannot measure success by what you have given up to achieve it. It is the choices you have made that makes you smile every day,” she said.
