Model of the Fortnight

Looking after her parents someday just as they have given her the comforts in life is among the foremost ambitions of Ronita Lal, our Model of the Fortnight.

“I am thankful to them for raising me to be a good daughter and member of a caring family. My parents have never lacked in providing me with the utmost love and support. As the youngest daughter, I look up to my three elders for inspiration and love,” she said.

Born in Suva, in her native Fiji, Ronita migrated to New Zealand with her family when she was just two years old. She loves being a globetrotter, an ambition which may see the light of the day as she completes her qualifications in Hotel Management and Airline Customer Service.

She may not be far away from achieving her goal; for, she is currently employed at a Duty Free Shop at the Auckland International Airport.

Ronita considers participating at the Miss Indianz 2012 pageant (at which she won the ‘Miss Photographic Model’) as an exciting experience in her life.

“The Pageant helped me to gain self-confidence and gave me an opportunity to represent my Kiwi and Indian culture. I am proud to be a Fijian-born Indian and continue to follow the traditions and values of my culture,” she said.

Ronita believes in living for the moment and for the day.

“I believe that it is important to enjoy every moment and learn from mistakes and insecurities. No one is perfect and hence we must make the most out of what we have and try to accomplish all the goals that we have set,” she said.
